Board exam group study for Class 10 and 12
Board exams reward clear, complete answers written in time. Group study helps you practise saying and structuring answers, and catches the points you keep forgetting.
Most board exam marks come from questions that are predictable in type: definitions, short explanations, derivations, diagrams and long answers. Practising them out loud with friends is faster than writing every answer alone.
Use the group for recall and checking. Use solo time for reading and writing practice.
How to do it
- Pick one chapter per call and list its likely question types.
- Recall round: each person explains one topic from the chapter in 3–5 minutes, without notes.
- Answer frame round: for one long question, each person says the points they would write, in order. Compare and agree on a complete answer.
- Diagram check: share photos of your diagrams; others check labels and neatness.
- Write alone after the call: write one long answer in timed conditions.
A 4-week revision plan
- Week 1–2: one chapter per day, with a 30-minute group recall call every other day.
- Week 3: past papers and sample papers; review mistakes together.
- Week 4: quick recall of all chapters, formulas and diagrams; short calls only.
- Keep a list of points you forgot and recall it every few days.

Questions students ask
Is group study good for board exams?
Yes, for recall, checking answers and diagrams, and staying consistent. Do your reading and timed answer writing alone.
How can Class 10 students study together online?
Pick one chapter, take turns explaining topics without notes, and compare answer points for important questions. Keep calls 30–45 minutes.
How do we practise answer writing in a group?
Agree on the points for an answer together, then each person writes it alone in time and shares a photo for others to check.
When should we start group revision for boards?
About 6–8 weeks before the exam works well; start with weekly calls and increase in the last month.
Is Samjhao only for CBSE?
No. Any board or class can use it: CBSE, ICSE and state boards, from Class 6 to 12.
Samjhao is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with CBSE, CISCE or any state board. Always follow your board's official syllabus and notices.
